This was my grandpa’s watch. Until today, the last time it worked was when he wore it. He was born in 1940 and grew up in Cohoes, New York. He was a National Guard veteran, and he worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit for 30 years. A New Yorker to the bone, he was outspoken, enjoyed his sports, and rooted against any team my dad supported. He loved baseball, hockey, fishing, his dog, and his grandkids. The watch was given to me, his oldest grandson, after he died of cancer in 2000. Just 3 years after he retired. I know the watch isn’t super valuable or attractive. But I miss my grandpa a lot, and I’m glad I have something that was his.
